Black Note Graffiti - Knights

Black Note Graffiti is an American rock band based in Ann Arbor, Michigan. This five-piece band combines elements of progressive metal with alternative rock to create their sound, a combination that helps their music thrive in today’s varied musical soundscape. Today we take a look at Black Note Graffiti’s new single, “Knights”.

“Knights” starts out with distorted guitar and reverb-filled vocals which immediately drew me in. Vocally, the track is rather aggressive, featuring some notable interplay between the group’s two vocalists. Lyrically, the song calls out the hypocrisy of a metaphorical “White Knight” who has failed his people while proclaiming that they are taking over, certainly a relatable message. Instrumentally, “Knights” has just the right amount of kick, with the guitar and drum work standing out; the rhythm section in particular radiantly helps to drive the vocal melody forward. The production on the track is exceptional, with the vocal effects and instrumental portion of the song sounding great and well-balanced.

“Knights” stands as an excellent single from Black Note Graffiti, displaying their superb skills for writing and recording music while highlighting the group’s impressive ability to melodically send a strong message. I feel as though the group truly succeeds in all aspects of their songwriting process; this song seemed very conceptual in nature and really captures what the group was going for. You can learn more about Black Note Graffiti through their website and keep up with their Twitter and Instagram for updates. As always we have “Knights” embedded below!
