Carameladora - Raindrops

Carameladora is a Bucharest-based artist. In her music, Carameladora uses both ambient sounds and synthesizers to weave distinctive soundscapes that are full of imagery. Although this artist has only been producing music since 2019, the worlds that she builds with her sound are truly special. Today we are excited to share our thoughts on Carameladora’s song, “Raindrops”.

“Raindrops” truly captures some of the best things about Carameladora’s music. In the song’s opening moments, I was drawn to the unique percussion choices; it is not often I hear a song where the drum beat serves as a hook in its own right but throughout “Raindrops”, we are treated to some excellent rhythmic work. A pleasant acoustic guitar sound pairs with piano and strings to build elaborate and inviting textures that make this song extremely enjoyable. This song feels to me like looking out of the window on a rainy day when I was a child, knowing that while it may be cold and wet outside, there is still so much wonder to experience during a rain shower.

Through “Raindrops”, we are treated to some of the special, delightful sound that we can expect from Carameladora. While listening to this eloquent song, I was drawn to specific memories of staying at my grandmother’s house while it was raining when I was very young and even if you have no direct memories of something like this, I am sure that through this song you will feel something like this. You can keep up with Carameladora through Facebook, Twitter and Instagram and find more music through Spotify, YouTube, Apple Music and SoundCloud. We have “Raindrops” embedded below via Spotify!
