ConFunkShun - Smooth
ConFunkShun is a legendary Funk band with several decades of work under their belts. With multiple Gold albums and even a Platinum album to show for their hard work and decades-spanning career, this group still brings the funk in the best way. Today we are excited to share our thoughts on their single, “Smooth”, which is due for release on November 17, 2023!
“Smooth” is, as its title would suggest, a silky smooth song with the vocals standing out especially as the focal point. You still get the funky, danceable rhythm section you would expect from ConFunkShun mixed in with the overall richly textured backing instrumental. There is a certain timelessness about this song that makes it sound like it could have come from many different eras - really, any time between the 70’s and 00’s - and it shows that this group still has a lot to offer the music world.
