Doug Kistner ft. Bill Champlin - There's The Door

Doug Kistner is a touring keyboard player and vocalist from Verona, New Jersey. Renowned for his body of work, Kistner brings contemporary Yacht Rock vibes to his music, all the while performing with big names like Trans Siberian Orchestra. Kistner has now taken the step forward and started to release his own music. Today we are excited to share our thoughts on Doug Kistner’s song, “There’s The Door” which features Bill Champlin.

“There’s The Door” comes in at three minutes and forty-two seconds and each moment that the song plays is pure bliss. A throwback of sorts, the track’s instrumental portion is a throwback to the 70’s and 80’s; while listening, I was reminded a great deal of some of Billy Joel’s best songs, though Kistner certainly puts his own spin on things. Vocal harmonies team with the textured backing track to craft a uniquely syncopated kind of nature that allows for the song’s rhythm to act as a hook in a similar way to the vocals. “There’s The Door” is an artistic piece but is extremely accessible and I feel like this song would appeal to fans of classic radio songs.

Through his years of experience, Doug Kistner really has an idea for what just works in music and that makes the songs he releases truly special. I truly cannot wait to hear more from this talented artist as he furthers his solo career. Make sure that you keep an eye on what Doug Kistner is doing through his Facebook page and we have “There’s The Door” embedded below - take a listen!
