Drew Lines - Rise

Drew Lines is a Rap/Hip-Hop artist from Wisconsin. A writer since the age of thirteen, Drew Lines wrote over five hundred poems as a mean of expression and reflection while confined in a boy’s prison, some of which have gone on to be published. Today we are excited to take a look at Drew Lines’

“Rise”, which features Clio Cadence, is an in-your-face rap track that really brings the hype. Clio Cadence’s smooth vocals in the chorus pair extremely well with the methodical flow that Drew Lines performs during the verses; at the 2:49 mark, Drew Lines absolutely brings it, creating a literal rise that is absolutely hype-filled and pulse-pounding. This track has the kind of energy and flow that reminds me of Mike Shinoda’s early role in Linkin Park’s music, but stands out to me because of Drew Lines’ unique approach to his rap flow.

Drew Lines has been through a lot in his life and career; he once performed in a partnership with his brother C.J., called The Brotherhood, but his brother tragically passed in 2014. Drew has also survived a car accident that put him in a coma. When you listen to Drew Lines’ music, you get a taste for his struggles and triumphs through the lyrics he shares and that is definitely something special. Keep up with Drew Lines through Facebook and we have “Rise” embedded below!
