Elektragaaz - Your Own Private Cinema, Part 1
Elektragaaz is a global live and virtual instrumental group. Known for their unique mix of live and electronic music, this group is both a real-life and virtual experience, shrouded in mystery. Today we are excited to share our thoughts on Elektragaaz’s EP, Your Own Private Cinema, Part 1, the first in a planned six-part EP series!
Your Own Private Cinema, Part 1 begins with “We May Die But We Will Not Rust”. The experience this song provides is one-of-a-kind, sounding like something from a Spy-Thriller film, set in a high-tech future. I love it. “Things Take A Turn” follows and it delights effortlessly with an enigmatic vibe. I admire the synth work in this song immensely and the overall layering featured across all elements of the song gives a richness to the vibes it gives off. “Dancing, A Little Tipsy, With Shorty” is up next and it wins the title for my favorite song title of the year. A certain franticness comes and goes throughout this song, making it an exceptionally interesting piece among an ocean of intrigue featured within the EP.
Fourth from Your Own Private Cinema, Part 1 is “Lady Hannah Fights The Red Demon”. I love how this song feels like it ripped out of an older action/adventure video game with a sound that reminds me of early Zelda and Final Fantasy titles. “Tropical Sway” is fifth and it has a peppiness that makes it a lot of fun to listen to. I found this one to be refreshing in a bit of an unorthodox way, almost like a palate cleanser in song form, almost serving as a reset button of sorts. Closing out the EP is “The Cheerful Dead” which sounds quite literally as if it is a spirited tribute to the dead.
I love the way that Elektragaaz kind of throws different sounds at the wall to create a one of a kind sound. That said, it is not as if the way this group sounds is an accident or coincidence; you can tell that the artists involved in this project are tactful and experienced with a deep knowledge of music texturing and melody that makes their music special. You can keep up with Elektragaaz through Instagram, Facebook and their website and find their music through SoundCloud, Spotify, Amazon and Apple Music.
