That said, I truly believe the reason “Armour Up” shines so brightly is because of the production and writing work for this one. Indeed, Doss served as a co-writer and was the reason for the ballad’s beautiful string arrangements. These strings, along with the entire backing instrumental, pair perfectly with Aubree Dieckmeyer’s vocal talents to create some real magic and the song as a whole is so perfectly put together that you really will begin to get an idea of why Chris Doss is such a sought after producer.
Although “Armour Up” was released nearly a decade ago, it really is a phenomenal release that I would have been remiss for not writing about.
