Farrelly - Somewhere in Uvalde
Farrelly is an Australian singer/songwriter. Utilizing a blend of Rock, Folk and Punk, this straight-talking artist provides commentary on modern life and many of the complex, difficult emotions that encompass it. Today we are excited to share our thoughts on Farrelly’s single, “Somewhere in Uvalde”!
Inspired by the political cartoon created by Ted Littleford that shares its name, “Somewhere in Uvalde” is written from the perspective of the dog in that picture and beautifully traverses the tragedy that was the Robb Elementary School shooting in Uvalde, Texas. Farrelly’s lyrics effortlessly cover an incredibly difficult event to talk about and the emotion in his voice matches the tragic lyrics perfectly. This song has an incredible amount of heart infused into it and it made my heart ache the same way it did when I first heard about this tragedy unfolding.
With how impressive and deeply emotional it is, I was surprised to learn that “Somewhere in Uvalde” is Farrelly’s debut single; the song is a brilliant showcase of what this artist is all about, showing us both his character and skills.
