Hollow Crown - Disconnect
Hollow Crown is a Metalcore band based in Buffalo, New York, founded by brothers Anthony and Timothy Potenza. This band is absolutely at home in the darkness, unafraid to tackle deeper and dark topics that are not always easy to talk about within the lyrics of their songs. Today we are excited to share our thoughts on Hollow Crown’s debut single, “Disconnect”!
A heavy-hitter, “Disconnect” is absolutely brimming with energy. The Potenza brothers share the story of their mother walking out and the aftermath within the song’s lyrics, though it truly contains a hopeful overall message. Lead singer Anthony Ponenza turns in one of my favorite Metalcore vocal performances I have heard to date; his voice has all of the power and rawness you would expect in a Metalcore song but there is a little something more here that makes his voice stand out.
If a song this good is what Hollow Crown is releasing as their first single, then I cannot wait for what comes next from this band. “Disconnect” truly is everything you would ever want in a Metalcore song and more.
