Introducing Piero Luigi Carcerano
Piero Luigi Carcerano is an architect, designer and songwriter. This artist began studying piano at a young age and eventually fell in love with Pop music, and now music accompanies each part of his life. Today we are excited to share our thoughts on three of Piero Luigi Carcerano’s Italian-language songs, “Nuvole”, “La valigia” and “Nostalgia”!
“Nuvole” is the first song we listened to and it is an absolutely beautiful song. A melodic and passionate piece, this song is both powerful and uplifting, providing an incredibly positive energy overall. Even if you do not speak Italian, you can understand the absolute splendor and beauty that Piero Luigi Carcerano is singing about - as well as the strong-standing feelings of love expressed within. Listen below:
Next, we listened to “La valigia”, which translated means “the suitcase”, and it is powerful and meaningful in a completely different way than “Nuvole” is. Indeed, Carcerano’s vocals have real weight to them and the lyrics he is singing have an equal weight, with their deep and sorrowful nature. There is a sadness within this song that is easy to empathize with and I found it to be quite beautiful in its own unique way. Listen below:
The final song from Piero Luigi Carcerano that we listened to is the aptly named “Nostalgia”. This piece is reflective in nature and, once again, even if you do not understand the Italian lyrics, you can still easily feel the emotions that Carcerano is conveying through his vocal performance. I am impressed by the deep soundscape contained within this song and I was left feeling overwhelming feelings of nostalgia myself while I was listening. Listen below:
Throughout these three songs, Piero Luigi Carcerano’s passion for expression within his music comes through loud and clear; these three songs are all beautiful in different, amazing ways and they are each truly distinctive from one another and also special. In addition, Carcerano’s rhythmic style stuck out to me from a melodic standpoint and I found that the general melody from each of these songs popped back into my head at different points after listening. I have included English translations of the lyrics at the end of the article because, while I do not believe it is necessary to understand what is being sang to feel out the meaning, I do believe that Piero Luigi Carcerano’s lyrical work is just as masterful as the soundscapes that he so effortlessly paints with his sound. We hope you have enjoyed this listen-along introduction to Piero Luigi Carcerano!
Lyrics:
NUVOLE
Bright clouds lying on the sea
Rest on top of the falling wave
Blend the air with a vortex of wind
Turn ice flowers
In paintings by Monet
Clouds running up in the sky
Raise the wind as a song love
Throw the world beyond the night with your hands
we breathe free
We are not putting everything off until tomorrow.
Clouds running up in the sky
With bright shadows of color
Let us seek the path of freedom
For a different world
For a better world
Shout run fly
Tonight we seek love
We fly embraced to the moon
We bring the mountains to touch the sky
Let's help this world here
even if it's just fantasy
Colored clouds stay up there
Do not abandon yourselves on the falling wave
It doesn't matter if everything seems over
We will learn not to fall again
Clouds running up in the sky
with bright shadows of color
Let us seek the path of freedom
For a different world for a better world
Shout run fly
Tonight we seek love
Let's throw down the carnival mask
We transform old scraps into love sculptures
In desires of love in thoughts of love

La valigia
Fast-moving images
They run blurry without a boundary
They pass quickly without saying anything
As I go far away
A street, a house, a balcony, many lights
Memories of faces passing by confused.
The train goes fast without making noise
Speed along the axis that joins the cities
The half-empty wagon rocks
With life to change and dreams I would like
A story, a love, one evening a cry and then
It's me you
Escaped to go away
The empty suitcase between a voice and a silence
Needless to remain the
I wake up convinced I'm staying here
The suitcase above my head
It moves with the air I would like
Charged with a heart that no longer laughs
He doesn't want any more lies.
Only dreams, fantasy, desires sincere eyes to live
Whatever I would like.
I look at what I am, never hiding
My family is a photograph that pushed me far away
A story, a love, one evening a cry and then.
It's me you
Escaped to go away
The empty suitcase between a voice and a silence
Needless to remain the
I wake up convinced I'm staying here
It's me you
Escaped to go away
The empty suitcase between a voice and a silence
Needless to remain the
I wake up convinced I'm staying here
I am convinced to stay here, convinced to stay here
Convinced to stay here
Convinced to stay here

NOSTALGIA
From an airplane window
I look out and see the sea
that makes melancholy
I see the aurora coming
Thought that flies
when I kissed you
on the steps of the school
and I didn't let you get away
To the afternoons spent talking
of dreams, lying down to listen
Our fire
Concerned
to play with love
while everything flowed away
and we played with the heart
I liked to tell you that I was a hurricane
You were beautiful with that big eyes
like that star that gets confused
with dawn falling to the ground
My Destiny has taken another path
I'm just here to fly with so many people
to embrace the night that I can touch with my fingers
I'm in the middle of the night covering the sea
With the engine pushed the wings
with noise driving away the clouds
Now between a coffee and a music video
I realize my present
All I've been
Everything that isn't there
Everything I will do tomorrow
What I wanted
Everything I will do tomorrow
What I wanted
Everything I want
Everything I wanted
Now time flies by
Don't wait for those who aren't there
I'm traveling with my heart
where the past is a mannequin
that runs away and sometimes returns
with your head in your hands
I'm caressing life
without obsession
only a fragility
of the night that trapped you
Now we're coming
I have another love waiting for me
something important
who is waiting for me
to see me go down the stairs
