Jeff Gee - Polaroids

Jeff Gee - also known as Nitestattik - is an experienced, well-studied singer and songwriter who grew up in Washington state. Gee took his first serious stab at music back in 1987 and in the time since then has written over one-thousand songs; ever seeking to improve his craft, Gee has a degree in commercial music and jazz studies as well as a certificate as a professional singer/songwriter. Today we are excited to share our thoughts on Jeff Gee’s single, “Polaroids” from his album Coast to Coast.

“Polaroids” is a song has spacey and nostalgic vibes to it with a sound that combines some of the best elements of both 80’s synth-pop and modern reinterpretations of that sound, really giving this track something special to listen to. Gee’s lyrics match the spacey and nostalgic feel of the song, featuring strong feelings of reflection and the emotions surrounding that process. You get a real sense that this song is coming from a personal place and knowing Jeff Gee’s history in music strengthens the connections and attachments you can make in this regard. “Polaroids” is an absolute delight to listen to and is indicative of the great music you can expect from Jeff Gee.

After listening to “Polaroids”, all I can say is that Jeff Gee is a remarkable talent with an equally remarkable sound that I really enjoy. Keep an eye out for new music from Jeff Gee releasing very soon and you can find more of his music on SoundCloud and YouTube; you can find the entirety of Gee’s album, Coast to Coast, on Bandcamp as well.
