John Lion - Tea Lady

John Lion is a singer-songwriter who is currently based in London. Working his way through London’s underground scene, this artist crafts the kind of music he wants to hear on the radio himself; I think he is poised for a breakout in his own right. We have previously checked out “I Don’t Believe in Magic” and “The Sun Is Up” from this talented artist, and today we are excited to dig into “Tea Lady”!

“Tea Lady” captures a folksy vibe, showcasing John Lion’s natural talent for crafting tunes in this genre. The vocal performance pairs perfectly with the perfectly subdued backing instrumental - truly a perfect pair. What I truly love the most about this song is how John Lion’s lyrics tell a relatable, authentic story with an somber message; this approach really captures the essence of what it is to write a folk song and I am truly impressed at how John Lion got the point across.

It is easy to tell that “Tea Lady” was inspired by Bob Dylan and other folk artists and it truly is a special song. I am excited for John Lion’s upcoming EP which “Tea Lady” will be a part of - and you should be excited as well! You can keep up with what John Lion is doing through Instagram and Facebook. We have “Tea Lady” embedded below via Spotify - take a listen and add to your playlists!
