Knotice1k - My Phone Never Dies But Friends Do
Knotice1k is a Hip-Hop/Rap artist from Broward County, Florida. With a straightforward approach to the music, Knotice1k lets each song speak for itself through honest lyrics and sensible, artistic flow. Today we are excited to share our thoughts on Knotice1k’s fresh new EP, My Phone Never Dies But Friends Do!
My Phone Never Dies But Friends Do kicks off with “Unplugged” which features some extremely soulful spoken-word style lyrics. Indeed, this track lines up thematically with the EP’s title extremely well, giving us a look at the point of view from which Knotice1k is writing this EP from while also serving its purpose as the opener well. “Friends?” follows and it presents Knotice1k’s straightforward approach in a very positive light; swift, easy flow and honest lyrics take center stage in this song. “I Try” is the third song from the EP and its longest - at just two minutes and twenty-six seconds. This track’s honest lyrics are heartbreaking and Knotice1k’s vocal performance serves up these lyrics in a truly stirring way that makes this song hit extremely hard.
The fourth track from My Phone Never Dies But Friends Do is “Overload”. This song features my favorite backing track production from the EP and this portion of the song definitely stands out. Not to be outdone, Knotice1k’s rap bars are also exceptional on this track; everything lines up in a way that makes it seem like this would be a great single to release if Knotice1k strives for some radio/feature plays. “Grave Yard Harmony” closes out My Phone Never Dies But Friends Do and the track is aptly titled as it gives off some truly haunting vibes. I think this track closes out the EP on a high note, truly capturing the raw and true emotions featured within this short but sweet EP.
My Phone Never Dies But Friends Do ultimately features tracks that have short runtimes but that helps each track get straight to the point with a clear, meaningful message and I think that really makes this a great EP.
