The lyrics are heartfelt, passionate and even a bit steamy; the wordplay with the metaphorical “night school” is something that I found to be quite clever. Interplay between the backing instrumental and Jay’s vocal melody is also on full display here, truly providing an epic experience. What I enjoy most about Larry Jay is how he is able to blend classic Country with contemporary Country; his music has all the heart that the classics do but also features certain pop sensibilities that give his sound massively broad appeal.
