MATD - Dreamin’ of Thee ft. Nida & Erja
MATD is a Finnish pop duo featuring members Marcos Kuusjärvi and Veli Eronen. With a trailblazing sound, this group is really doing some great things with their music. Today we are excited to share our thoughts on MATD’s single, “Dreamin’ of Thee”, which features Nida and Erja and was released on March 18, 2022!
“Dreamin’ of Thee” is a very powerful song with deep and meaningful lyrics. The way in which the powerful vocals match up with the equally powerful instrumentation of this track really brings the song’s meaning to life in a memorable way. Of note is the personal tragedy that went on during the recording and release of this song; Veli fell ill and spent five days in the hospital and both Marcos and Veli lost family members, causing the group to delay its release; these experiences brought on a whole new meaning for the song.
Truly a global release, “Dreamin’ of Thee” features personnel from Finland (Marcos and Veli), Spain (Erja) and the USA (Nida), proving that even over long distances, powerful music can be made; I think this speaks to the ambition of MATD as a whole and this track is a great example of their talents.
