MERLIN - Code Blue
Merlin, typically stylized as MERLIN is a music artist who was born in Albania and moved to the United States at a young age. With influences like Dua Lipa and Halsey, MERLIN has a recognizable yet uniquely emotive energy in her sound that makes her music special. Today we want to get you excited for MERLIN’s upcoming single, “Code Blue”, due for release on April 23, 2021.
“Code Blue” is MERLIN’s unapologetic “Ode to the Multidimensional Woman”. The track does a splendid job of embracing the contradictions within all of us, offering up the ultimatum: “if you can't love all of me, you can't have any part of me”. Of the track, MERLIN mentions that “All of the women inside me are tired”, managing to celebrate the complicatedness within humanity while also breaking down the labels that would simplify her identity. The phrase “code blue” is brought up many times throughout the track and serves as “a reminder to trust your gut, value your worth, and find the strength to say... it's not me, it's you”.
