Ranzel X Kendrick - Cross My Heart
Ranzel X Kendrick is a singer/songwriter who creates his own unique brand of music called “freestyle folk”. Releasing music under his own name and under an alias - aptly called Alias Wayne, Kendrick has provided some distinctive music to his listeners. We have previously taken a look at Kendrick’s single, “Like A Child”, and today we are excited to dive into his latest single, “Cross My Heart”.
“Cross My Heart”, which also features the talents of Rebecca White, comes in at four minutes and eight seconds of pure enjoyment. Kendrick presents his folksy sound in full force, providing us with a song that is introspective and meaningful. The aspect of this track that I enjoy the most is the vocal harmonies; they are downright Beatles-esque and bring some wonderful textures to the track. You can tell “Cross My Heart” comes straight from the heart - no pun intended - with how natural Ranzel X Kendrick’s performance in this track is.
I really feel that Ranzel X Kendrick is doing some interesting things with his music; his modern take on folk music is easily accessible and extremely easy to enjoy, no matter if you are familiar with the genre or not.
