Robby Hart is a singer/songwriter originally from San Diego and currently based in LA. Hart is a unique talent, able to satisfy the wants of the world of corporate pop as well as the needs of true fans with his eclectic and meaningful music. Today we are excited to share both our review of Robby Hart’s single, “Brand New”, as well as our interview with this exceptional artist!

Thank you for being with us today!
How did you get your start in music?
Thank you for having me! I grew up in a very musical family, so I got started early! I even played in marching band in high school. My professional start was in the theatre as a vocalist and musical theatre performer. Then I started to take my songwriting and solo artisty more seriously and…Here we are :).
Can you take us through your songwriting process?
Every single time it’s different. It can be anything from a random melody line being stuck in my head, to overhearing someone in a coffee shop say something and riffing off of that as a song title. Above all else…What is it that I need to say in this moment, that can’t be expressed in any other way except in this song? All of that makes writing music my number one love.
We took a listen to "Brand New", which is a delightfully sunny track. Can you share where (or from whom) you found inspiration for this track?
Aw I’m glad you liked it! To be honest I cannot recall the initial inspiration for the song at all haha. I just remember the whole process being…Easy. The writing took about 15 minutes. We recorded and produced everything SUPER quick. The quickest I’ve ever produced/mixed/mastered a song, which I think reflects the overall vibe. Now I feel like the song has taken on a whole new meaning of it’s own as we embark into this new world we are living in.

More releases, more videos, and…More live shows! The live shows I’m the most excited about currently given the fact my entire tour was cancelled last year. Check my social channels for those announcements :).
Speaking with Robby Hart through this interview reminded me of my own songwriting days; it often felt like some of my best work happened quickly and easily and I think that Hart’s experience with creating this song speaks all the more to how natural and authentic it is.
