RX - Reckless
RX is a music artist who incorporates both acoustic and electric guitar into his music. Featuring influences like Eric Clapton, John Mayer, and James Bay, RX manages to do a wonderful job of infusing both classic and contemporary sound into his music, building a style of his own. Today we take a look at RX’s single, “Reckless”, featuring Linzy Collins.
Instrumentally, “Reckless” is very pop-oriented, featuring well-driven bass and percussion that serve the vocals very well; the guitar in the track accents the rest of the instrumental very well, giving it a peppy vibe. Lyrically, the track is about being reckless while in love - an easily relatable theme. The way that RX and Linzy Collins’ voices play off of each other gives the track a playful nature that brought a smile to my face. “Reckless” is filled with pop-y brilliance and squeaky-clean production, reminiscent of John Mayer’s work but still unique, fresh and full of heart - a true testament to RX’s refreshing style.
“Reckless” shows off RX’s excellent talent as a musician and singer and left me wanting to look more into his catalog. The track truly sounds like something that should be on pop radio and is a real triumph.
