See Your Shadow - Take It To Your Grave
See Your Shadow is is a music collective based in Phoenix Arizona, managed by The Metropolitan Cowboy, Michael Coleman. We have previously listened to three tracks from See Your Shadow, “I Know My Worth”, “It Starts With Hello” and “Missing West Virginia” and today we are back to check out “Take It To Your Grave”!
“Take It To Your Grave” is a Bluesy Country song with a storytelling approach to the lyrics. The story within is about a man who slept with his best friend’s wife which led to a child being born; the repeated encouragement to “take it to [his] grave” is in an effort to save the family the pain of shattering, though it also features the emotions around the man not being able to call his child his own. I have never heard another song about this kind of topic before and I found it especially gripping because of that.
As always, I am impressed by See Your Shadow and the music this collective is able to put out. “Take It To Your Grave” is one-of-a-kind and just a great song.
