Snowblls - Feel It (ft. Tahz) w/Interview
Snowblls creates Tropical House music from the frozen, cold land of Moscow. This band is fronted by Aspi and effortlessly breaks down stereotypes about Russian music with a positive, Global-oriented approach to their sound and presentation. Today we are excited to share our thoughts on Snowblls’ newest single, “Feel It”, which features Tahz, as well as our interview with this group!
“Feel It” is an exceptional song that offers enjoyment from start to finish and across multiple listens giving it some excellent replayability that will make you want to add it to your playlists. Through the track’s vocals we are treated to some authentic and tender vocals that bring the meaning of the lyrics to life in a powerful way. The instrumental is well-textured, offering some refreshing vibes that pair extremely well with the vocal performances. “Feel It” really is a complete package of a song and I thoroughly enjoy it.
Now let’s jump into the interview!
Thanks for being with us today!
How did you get your start as music artists/as a band?
It's quite a simple story: Max started a band in high school. He and the band were playing metal. A bit after, Aspi joined the band and they switched to alternative music and when Andy and Alex came along, the band just started playing pop-rock, pop and experimenting with genres. In the end, our music is about passion, love, life and fun.
Can you tell us about some of your influences/favorite artists and what they mean to you?
Michael Jackson was a huge influence. He's a king of pop, no less. Also, when we were doing alternative rock music, we were very influenced by Linkin Park, Papa Roach and a bunch of other awesome new wavers from 2000s. From the pool side, we love Black Eyed Peas, we think that Will.I.Am is so underestimated. BEP influenced us in every way: with awesome music, their free spirit and party vibes. We live them with all our hearts. And from electronic influences, we love Jamaican artist Major Lazer. They have fresh sound and awesome vibes.
In what ways, if at all, do you feel your influences/favorite artists impact the music you release?
They help us transfer feelings into music. This music is like soul food that inspires and gives energy to go with our own music. Sometimes we notice cool parts that we wanna try in our own songs.
What can you tell us about the company you're a part of, Black Tears Media?
BTM goes way back to the glory times of reggae artists conquering us music scene. We met with Jabba through internet, just coincidentally. We are very thankful to Jabba and Black Tears Media for seeing our potential and believing in us.
What are your overarching goals as music artists?
Our big mission has always been to serve as a bridge between Russia and the rest of the world. To every country we went, we always heard "you don't seem to be Russian, we imagined Russians to be different". Our mission has always been to break the stereotypes about thought guys with bad accents in track suits. We want to let the word know that many Russians are opened people, who believe in love and peace and who have the same values as people in Europe, US or Asia. So we want to bring Russia and the rest of the world closer, to see the world without borders or wars, full of love and mutual respect.
Do you have a favorite moment from your career? If so, can you describe that for us?
I think these moments are about the shows that we were playing, the tours we were doing and the people that we share our energy with. When we were touring in Germany, there was a show with the barbeque in the club's yard, where we, other band and the people who came to the show just enjoyed barbeques wursts and having a great time.
We listened to your song "Feel It". What is this song about and where did the inspiration for it come from?
The song is about trusting your heart and letting your love light the world. The inspiration came from the hard times that we were having at that moment: nothing seemed right, and it felt like sitting in the darkness. But once we stopped and listened to our hearts, once we just let ourselves believe in the healing power of love, we felt way better. So basically the song was a reflection of that state. Once you believe that your love shines on the world, it really does.
How was your experience working on a track with Tahz?
It was quite unusual. We have never made a track remotely. We always saw a person in real life, so it was a shot in the dark for us. But it payed off so well. Before Tahz, we haven't done reggae-pop and we were a bit nervous on how it'll come out, but Tahz was so supportive and professional that we believed we can do a transcontinental song together. And we did without even meeting personally. It's an awesome experience and the song turned to be way better than we dared to hope.
Is there anything else you'd like to tell our readers about yourselves, your collaborators, or your music?
We would like to thank you for giving us a chance to reach out to you and tell our story. No matter where you are from, or what is your background, the only thing that matters is love. Love yourself, love others, love the world and the world will love you back. Peace and love! ☮️♥️
