SoundCup ft. Schmorgle - Chase
SoundCup is an EDM music producer from Switzerland and currently residing in the French Alps. We have previously covered SoundCup and his track “To the Judge”, which featured vocalist Schmorgle and that track really whet our appetite for more music from this exciting artist. Today we dive into SoundCup’s second track made for his online course hosted by Norwegian DJ/producer Kygo, “Chase”, which features once again Schmorgle on vocals.
SoundCup’s goal with “Chase” was to develop a vocal chop track for his class with Kygo, and the resulting experience features a more chill BPM compared to that of “To the Judge”. Production-wise, this song really has some summer-infused energy and that “more chill” BPM that SoundCup provides gives the exact pacing that the song needs to breathe and find its groove. There are many details to find throughout that strengthen the overall melodic work and add some enjoyable layers as well. Schmorgle’s vocals also shine, really giving an additional lightness to the track. Overall, “Chase” has an intoxicating sunniness to it, giving off gentle yet inspirational vibes that left me feeling hopeful and at peace.
Through “Chase”, we experience yet another layer of SoundCup’s talent. The track does not have the more hype-based energy that “To the Judge” has but is instead something completely different; listening to “Chase” reminds me of going outside on the first day of Spring and taking a deep breath and just enjoying the moment.
