TazForte - Home Team
TazForte is a hip-hop/rap artist from Atlanta, Georgia. Despite hailing from the city synonymous with the East Coast Trap movement, TazForte has been able to set himself above other rappers in Atlanta by crafting an exceptional style that is both unique and effective and TazForte is certainly a top up-and-comer. Today we take a listen to TazForte’s new seven track EP, Home Team.
Home Team kicks off with the EP’s title track, “Home Team”. “Home Team” is a standout intro track with a great instrumental beat and excellent rap bars that set up the tone and some themes present in the rest of the EP. “Feel the Thrill” follows as the second track and it keeps up the great momentum established by “Home Team”. This track features autotuned vocals and an instrumental track that goes pretty hard, really setting up a thrilling vibe. “Hit the Bank” is up next and serves as a bit of a tonal shift instrumentally, though the lyrics and vocals continue to pump hard throughout the entire track. These first three tracks from Home Team do an excellent job of setting up themes while also showcasing TazForte’s big talent.
The fourth track on Home Team is “What I seen at first” which serves as a great example of TazForte’s talent for writing songs that tell stories. This track also had my favorite instrumental from the EP, giving off a great beat to bob your head to and overall this track is TazForte at his best. “Can’t Compare” follows as the fifth song on the EP and this song goes hard, showcasing a strong beat and quick-hitting rap lines; TazForte really goes and gets it with this song and it stands as perhaps my favorite from the EP. “Ritling Baby” follows and the track feels like it belongs on modern rap radio; this track really is the full package, with a great instrumental track setting the stage for some of TazForte’s best vocal work on the EP. Home Team concludes with “MasterPlan” which is an excellent track to end with as it showcases most of the elements presented throughout the EP all in one song; it is one final excellent display of skill by TazForte.
Overall, Home Team is full of great bars and beats that go hard; the EP is a great platform from which TazForte will continue to rise from.
