The Future According to Eve - Patterns

The Future According to Eve is a Rock band that was founded by New Zealand-born, Australian-based multi-instrumentalist and composer Michael Lobb. Known for its enigmatic nature, this project was created in 1999 but was on hiatus from 2003-2019 before triumphantly returning during the pandemic. Today we are excited to share our thoughts on The Future According to Eve’s single, “Patterns”!

Coming in at four minutes and twenty-nine seconds in length, “Patterns” is a deeply moving song that I found to be quite beautiful and full of life and meaning. Instrumentally, the song has a mid-tempo feel, well-layered and intentionally subdued in a way that serves the lyrics and vocals perfectly. I found the song’s greatest strength to be in its reflective, deep and relatable lyrics as well as the vocal performances, both of which play off of the instrumental perfectly.

Through “Patterns”, we can hear a lot of growth from The Future According to Eve and its captivating Alt-Rock sound is incredibly resonant. You can keep up with The Future According to Eve through Facebook, their page on the Dark Escapes website and TikTok and you can find music through Spotify and Bandcamp. We have “Patterns” embedded below - take a listen!
