Andrea Pizzo and The Purple Mice - Ada
Andrea Pizzo and The Purple Mice is a music group helmed by the expressive singer Andrea Pizzo. An undeniable talent, Pizzo brings something to his music that you cannot find anywhere else and his music is sure to delight any audience. We have previously checked out Andrea Pizzo and The Purple Mice’s release, Potatoes on Mars and today we are excited to share our thoughts on Andrea Pizzo’s double single/EP release, Ada!
Ada is a two-track EP that begins with its title track, “Ada”, which features both Andrea Pizzo and Silvia Criscenzo on vocals. “Ada” has a mellow instrumental and passionate vocals, providing a deeply appealing contrast that makes the song have a very unique feel to it. I found the lyrics and vocal performances to be calculated, almost in a mathematical sense, and I really enjoyed both the lyrics and melody in this one quite a bit. The other song from Ada is “The Boys from Silicon Valley”, sang by Andrea Pizzo, and I feel like the vocals really carry this song. Truly a song for the modern age, its lyrics have a relevant meaning and I am sure you will find a deep level of enjoyment in it. I found myself loving the almost jazzy feel to the instrumental, too, really making this song the kind of experience I just kind of jell with. These songs really are the kind that get you thinking - while also making you feel - and I thoroughly enjoy both tracks from Ada!
With a name that serves as tribute for scholar Ada Byron, Ada felt to me like it was an emotively calculated and intelligently-crafted work, and knowing the artists involved, I think it truly is a brilliant work.
