beat me senseless. - Run And Hide
Beat Me Senseless (stylized as beat me senseless.) is a newcomer rock band from Bavaria/Germany. The band has a sound that draws most heavily from Emo and Skate Punk as well as related punk-infused genres. Their electrifying first single, “Run And Hide”, is the subject of today’s review.
“Run And Hide” opens with an energetic and extremely catchy guitar riff, starting off strong with a great introduction to this band’s up-tempo sound. Like many punk-influenced songs, the verses in “Run And Hide” do a great job of building up to a catchy chorus and it is in the chorus that “Run And Hide” truly shines; it is very catchy and has a very uplifting message about “put[ting] our fears aside” to accomplish something greater. During the bridge, the song runs more along the Emo side of things, with the vocalist yelling “no more” a few times during a bit of an instrumental breakdown. All of these pieces come together to make a truly great Skate Punk anthem.
Listening to “Run And Hide” immediately took me back a few years to the days when I would listen to my punk rock stations on Pandora in between classes in college, with artists like Allister, Banner Pilot and SR-71 being some favorites that beat me senseless. remind me of - I wish I would have had this song a few years ago to mix in with these other artists’ music. Overall, I believe that “Run And Hide” is an excellent song for beat me senseless. to launch their band with and I cannot wait to hear more from these guys.
