Nail Bite - Winds of Neptune
Nail Bite is an up and coming band from the Lancaster, PA area that infuse a lot of energy into their hard rock/metal music. The band is made up of a cast of young and talented musicians, featuring lead guitarist/vocalist John A Bitting, vocalist Lonna Nelson, guitarist Caiden Nelson, drummer Austin Landis and bassist John C Bitting. Today we take a look at this group’s power-filled track, “Winds of Neptune”.
“Winds of Neptune” begins with a sharp wind sound effect which sold me very quickly on the “winds” concept that Nail Bite was going for. After a clean guitar melody sets the table, the song really kicks into gear at about the 1 minute mark with thundering guitar and drums. John A Bitting and Lonna Nelson split co-lead vocals throughout the track, their growl-esque harmonies expertly driving the track’s vocal melody. Throughout the duration of the track, the lead guitar during the vocals remains on-point, breathing additional life into the words being sang and even stealing the show towards the middle-end of the track with a high-octane and spacey sounding solo.
“Winds of Neptune” shows off the raw power and energy that Nail Bite provide as a group. In addition, “Winds of Neptune” also displays the group’s creativity, featuring ambitious but well-executed production with the wind sound effects during the song. Overall, I was left impressed by this young and up and coming band and I look forward to checking out more material from them in the future. You can check out “Winds of Neptune” embedded below!
