Kyle Oashu - I Just Want to See the Sun Again
Kyle Oashu is a hip-hop/rap artist based out of South Carolina. Oashu does a great job of infusing his real-life experiences into the music that he creates. A product of Oashu’s journey to self-discovery and a testament to his adaptability, I Just Want to See the Sun Again is a 6-track album released earlier this year by this superb hip-hop artist.
I Just Want to See the Sun Again is an expertly-written album with plenty of excellent flow and lyrics to explore; the instrumental beats play very well with Kyle Oashu’s vocal performances, driving the songs well but never overshadowing Oashu’s skillful flow. While the whole album was excellent, a few tracks certainly stood out to me. “Nimbus” features a very tactfully performed track, starting with expertly rapped lyrics; as the track goes on Oashu guides us to his desire for nimbus clouds to “take [him] far away”. “Pretty Little Monster” serves as the album’s closer and was a track that hit me hard; the backing track matched the tone of the song perfectly and the lyrics were extremely personal - you can feel the pain when Oashu sings “lost a homie just this year, I need a re-do”. Throughout the album, it is easy to understand that Kyle Oashu is yearning for better days, with his pain, desire and hope all out on display through his lyrics.
I Just Want to See the Sun Again features expert production and a whole lot of heart on display from start to finish. This album is a showcase of Kyle Oashu’s skill, creativity and heart.
