Beemo - Nova

Beemo is an American band from Orlando, Florida. The group has a very distinctive sound, combining elements from Indie rock, Celtic folk, Americana and Bluegrass to create a sound unlike any you have heard before; Warped Tour founder Kevin Lyman has described their sound as “Sweet Mountain Punk”. Today we listen to “Nova” from Beemo’s 2019 album Bustin’ Out.

“Nova” is an infectiously catchy track that does a great job of introducing us to Beemo’s sound. The instrumentation on this track is something special, with the bass and string performances really taking the spotlight, though the percussion also really helps to carry the backing track. Vocally, “Nova” features one of the catchiest vocal melodies I have heard lately and this song was stuck in my head for hours after listening which really helped the song’s message resonate more powerfully. “Nova” manages to be exciting, fun and full of heart all in one richly enjoyable package.

Overall, “Nova” really captures a great deal of the spirit that Beemo is known for putting in their music and the song’s genre-bending elements represent the group’s skills very well. It really is refreshing to listen to a band with a completely fresh and distinctive soundscape like the “Sweet Mountain Punk” that Beemo brings to the table. You can keep up with Beemo through Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and their website. Be sure to take a listen to “Nova”, which we have embedded below!
