Big Bus Dream - Giant In My Mind
Big Bus Dream is a rootsy rock band from Charlotte, North Carolina. Founded by Mike Shannon, who himself is a songwriter, producer, vocalist, guitarist, keyboardist and percussionist, this group was formed in 2006. Today we take a dive into Big Bus Dream’s single, “Giant In My Mind”, which is the title track of their latest album Giant In My Mind which was released on June 3rd, 2021.
A captivating song, “Giant In My Mind” is heartfelt and reflective. Taking the listener on a journey through the years, this track touches on past hopes and dreams, commenting on a time where the singer and his friends were “giants in [their] minds”, playing songs together and enjoying their youth. There is a certain permanent relevance in songs like this, as everyone gets old and thinks back to days gone by where things seemed different. In terms of overall feeling, “Giant In My Mind” feels like something akin to Bob Dylan with its folksy nature and honest storytelling approach to the lyrics.
