Bo Dugan - Amour Fool
Bo Dugan is a music artist who puts a comedic twist into his music. Growing up, Dugan listened to legendary artist Waylon Jennings and watched 90’s bootleg pornography; he writes songs that are influenced by those two influences, providing a fun amount of humor and wit in his songs. Today we take a listen to Dugan’s track, “Amour Fool”, from his recently released album Truckin’ n Cuckin’.
“Amour Fool” is a humorous track that walks us through a unique romantic relationship; Dugan compares her voice to an angel’s while she is yelling at him, she could drink like a sewer rat and she even fought his mother. The track does have a somber conclusion, though as Dugan’s love leaves him “with enough of [his] shit it might be grand theft” and he is truly heartbroken over how things ended. Dugan’s approach is simple - as he is singing alongside just an acoustic guitar - but the execution is phenomenal. The end result is a track that is humorous in a natural way as Dugan weaves a tale that sounds larger than life yet still feels believable.
In the end, “Amour Fool” is the kind of song that will capture your heart - and your funny bone.
