CHAD! - Serenity
CHAD! is the artist name of Walterboro South Carolina’s Chad Nathan. Starting his music career in 2015 at the age of 14, Chad started by posting freestyle rap clips before quitting music for a time; his return came in 2019 when he began creating his own beats and eventually came to truly explore his passion. Chad considers himself an executive producer above all else with his music, something that shines through in every track that he creates. Today we are excited to share our thoughts on CHAD!’s new EP, Serenity!
Serenity starts off with the two-minute and forty-six second track “No Reason”, which starts off slow and tender. It is easy to tell from the outset that this track is very emotionally charged and personal place, really giving a genuine feel to the lyrics. This track is a very strong starter to the EP and gives us a glimpse into the emotive nature of CHAD!’s music. An equally emotive song, “Ctrl Alt Delete”, follows and is impressively melodic as well. The way Chad’s flow interacts with the backing instrumental is quite special, really giving this song a powerful vibe. The third track from Serenity is “Missed Miss” which features my favorite instrumental on the EP; it feels like an Alt/Indie-Pop song blended with some Hip-Hop energy which sounds perfect for the radio. “Her Problem” closes the EP and its bluesy nature truly hits home. I cannot thing of a stronger note to end Serenity on and this track will make you want to replay this EP over and over.
