Chris Punk ft. George - Crazy
Chris Punk is a Swedish music producer who has spent his career exclusively producing music for other musicians - until recently. Inspired by his friend George’s vocal similarity with a famous artist, the two decided to collaborate in recording a cover song. Today we take a look at Chris Punk and George’s cover “Crazy”, a song originally by Seal, the first track Chris Punk has released under his own name.
Chris Punk described his take on “Crazy” as a “radio friendly” R&B/House track “with a touch of melancholic 90’s Electro Pop” and I think this genre choice really suits the song well. This modernized approach breathes new life into an iconic track and excellently displays the production/composing talents of Chris Punk and George’s excellent vocal capabilities. The way that this take on “Crazy” builds up throughout the track truly pays off in a truly satisfying way. The Electro Pop elements of the track, though subtle, definitely stood out as my favorite pieces of the track, though the entire cover is outstanding; the production is top notch and you get a great feel for the years of experience in music production that Chris Punk brought to the table with this one.
Chris Punk & George’s cover of “Crazy” would make for an exceptional driving song or just a great track to listen to when you want to groove out for awhile.
