Spring 84 - Higher Love
Spring 84 is an artist who finds inspiration from artists such as Celine Dion, Whitney Houston and Mariah Carey. In her music, she tries to promote “romance and healthy relationships” by singing about her own experiences in life and love, including her marriage to her husband. Today we take a listen to Spring 84’s new album, Higher Love.
At its core, Higher Love is an album full of passion and love - as the title suggests - and does a wonderful job of executing Spring 84’s goal of promoting love. The vocal production throughout the album keeps the album interesting and the instrumental production - which is often minimalist such as in the lead track “Working Us” - allows for Spring 84’s passion filled vocals and lyrics to take center stage. Although the entire album is best listened to as a whole, there were some tracks that I particularly enjoyed. I truly enjoyed “Working Us” for its minimalist approach and heart-filled lyrics. “Dance With Me” plays like a classic 90’s dance song and strongly instills some positive energy into the album. “The Real Rock” is a solid album closer, featuring more of a hip-hop vibe that truly drives the album home as a whole.
Overall, the love-filled Higher Love does a great job of displaying Spring 84’s talent for music and all of the love in her heart. In addition to having just released Higher Love, Spring 84 is also working on other projects “about love and embracing people from all walks of life”, further showing the compassion this wonderful artist has.
