Hazeline Taffe - Finally
Hazeline Taffe is a Canadian citizen who is originally from Jamaica and she makes music across several genres including Gospel. After a tragedy in her life, Taffe began writing music to help her through the pain and sorrow. Today we take a look at Hazeline Taffe's album, Finally, a wonderful exhibit of this artist’s Gospel music.
As it is a gospel album, Finally features primarily worship-related lyrics shining praise and glory upon God, as well as featuring some details of Hazeline Taffe’s personal relationship with God. Instrumentally, the album traverses through multiple genres, showing some R&B and Soul influences in addition to worship music. The album as a whole is outstanding and filled with deep passion and beautiful lyrics; a couple songs stood out as my favorites. The piano-driven opening track “Carry You Along” does a wonderful job of setting the table and teasing the rest of the album while standing as a shining example of Hazeline Taffe’s soulful singing and lyrics. “Hallowed Be Thy Name” is a beautiful ballad filled with all the passion and soul I have come to expect from Hazeline Taffe and features a light and peaceful backing track; this song had the most profound effect on me of any from Finally.
Giving Finally a listen will certainly leave you feeling at peace and I believe that this album is excellent for anyone who loves Gospel or Soul music.
