Kemper Grant - Jungle
Kemper Grant is musical artist from Oklahoma. This talented musician has a lot of skill and is a multifaceted talent, his sound drawing from many genres to create a sound uniquely his own. Today we take a look at his debut album, Jungle, an 8 song album originally released on April 24, 2020.
Jungle is an album that features a lot of different sounds to vibe to. Kemper Grant provides a lot of hip-hop and R&B vibes throughout the album but the album also features pop and EDM influences, giving the listener a lot to play with while listening. The album features varied sounds that keep the album pumping from start to finish, with a few songs definitely standing out to me. “Blind” features a trance-y hip-hop vibe and features wonderful complementary vocals from Emily Auer; this track was the one I “vibed to” the most throughout listening to Jungle. “Electra” features more of a pop-R&B sound to it and the track’s genuine emotions really resonated with me - it is definitely my favorite song on the album. “The Image” closes the album out and I really vibed to the percussion in this track; it also serves as an excellent and nostalgic sounding album closer, a final statement that Kemper Grant is here and ready to rise.
As a whole, Jungle is a brilliant display of Kemper Grant’s wonderful musical talents. I think Grant is going to be able to build even more from his already excellent and distinct sound and rise to be a prominent artist in the future.
