Coldswell - Dark Eyes
Coldswell is an alternative rock band based out of Cleveland, Ohio. An up and coming band, Coldswell is a group that seems to get better with each new release and their take on alternative music has a timeless feeling to it. Today we take a look at Coldswell’s track, “Dark Eyes”, from their 2019 album Void Calls.
“Dark Eyes” is a brilliantly written and performed track by Coldswell. Crunchy guitar and strong, aggressive vocals are what makes this track shine. There is a lot of raw emotion in the track’s vocals, reminding me heavily of some of my favorite tracks across grunge and 90’s alternative rock. The guitar work is full of riffage, often playing off the vocal melody in a way that makes the track extremely catchy and memorable. Reverb-drenched bass pairs very well with the drums in this one to form the backbone of the track, giving the track a feeling of wholeness that brings it all together.
“Dark Eyes” is a great display of both Coldswell’s outstanding dark alternative sound as well how much this group has grown as a band. This group is certainly on the rise and I cannot wait to hear more from them.
