Damon Mitchell is a singer/songwriter and left-handed guitarist from Cincinnati, Ohio. Mitchell’s sound is quite distinctive, capturing a blend of aspects from bands like The Beatles and Death Cab for Cutie which is quite an interesting range. Today we are excited to share our advance review of Damon Mitchell’s single “Blurry” from his upcoming album Like You're In A Dream.

“Blurry” kicks off with an extremely melodic guitar riff and that is just a teaser for what is to come during the entire track; from start to finish, this song is brimming with melody, both in terms of the backing track and the vocals. Indeed, the vocal melody is extremely catchy and it was stuck in my head for several hours after my initial listening sessions. In terms of overall soundscape, this track reminds me of some of my favorite 90’s pop songs but it has this unmistakable heart to it that also reminds me of older groups like The Beatles and early R.E.M., which I think provides something truly irresistible that will make you want to listen over and over.

I feel like “Blurry” is a brilliant introduction to Damon Mitchell and it will serve well to tease Like You’re In A Dream; I can tell you that this track has undeniably whet my appetite for more!
