Dizzy Box Nine - Deep Inside Your Mind
Dizzy Box Nine is an indie-pop band from Southern California that has been rocking since summer 2016. The band features influences from across the airwaves of the 80’s and 90’s and blends those influences with their own experience to make something unique that stands on its own. Today we take a look at Dizzy Box Nine’s track "Deep Inside Your Mind" from the album Faster Than Anticipation.
“Deep Inside Your Mind” is an infectiously catchy song, featuring both an outstanding vocal melody and an instrumental track to match; the bass and guitar parts in this song are every bit as hooky as the singing. Throughout the track, tasteful lead guitar accents the lyrics in a way that reminds me of 80’s new wave (a la A Flock of Seagulls), while the vocal melody sounded like something ripped straight from 90’s pop radio with peppy and upbeat attitude. The vocal harmonies throughout the track further add a layer of texture while richly complementing the lead vocals. All aspects of the song are on-point and combine together to make a song that is sure to get stuck in your head.
Overall, I have to say that “Deep Inside Your Mind” is a very good introduction to Dizzy Box Nine; the track features all of the hallmarks that make this band great, showing both their influences and how they use them to create their own distinctive, catchy music. Dizzy Box Nine manage to stand as both a tribute to days gone by while also keeping their music fresh.
