Drifters In Vellichor - The Shadow

Drifters In Vellichor is a duo consisting of Dan Black and Rich Barnett. The group formed in California back in 2005 as a trio under the name AutoDefe but broke up the next year; over a decade later, Black and Rich reconnected at a show in Nashville and formed Drifters In Vellichor as a duo. Today we are happy to share our remarks about Drifters In Vellichor’s single, “The Shadow”.

“The Shadow” is an unapologetically in your face track that you will want to play loud. The track’s instrumental is artistically chaotic with the guitar work standing out as the most interesting element among this controlled chaos; the guitar performance is wholly entertaining and tastefully performed, really texturing the track in a way that makes it resonate while the rhythm section holds the song together extremely well. I really feel as though the vocal performance is on point as well, showcasing what I can best describe as aggressive melodic flair, driving the point home in a truly awesome way.

I am really excited to see what is next for Drifters In Vellichor and their high octane sound; this group is certainly doing something exceptional with their sound and it is really engaging. “The Shadow” stands as an excellent track that any fans of heavier music will want to add to their playlists and rock out to. Keep up with through their website and Instagram. We have “The Shadow” embedded below - take a listen!
