Sugar Addikt - Shackles

Sugar Addikt is an electronic duo from Seattle, Washington. A mother and son duo, singer/songwriter Vanessa Littrell performs vocals and writes the lyrics while Bowman Littrell crafts the group’s distinct instrumentals. Today we take a dive into Sugar Addikt’s single, “Shackles”, which is track 1 from their EP Phoenix which was released by Three Penny Records.

“Shackles” is a danceable synth-heavy track that combines elements of classic synth music across both 80’s and 90’s sounds while still mixing in a contemporary influence. I found myself drawn in during the verses through Vanessa’s enticing vocals that reminded me of 90’s club tracks and I felt dazzled by the more contemporary EDM-inspired portion that appeared in the chorus. This incredible combination of multiple generations of electronic music will make you want to dance while containing something for pretty much any fans of club-inspired electronic music.

Sugar Addikt is a truly exciting group and the fact that the duo is made up of a mother and son adds an element of relatable sentimentality to their high quality sound.
