Dustin Case is an independent musician from California. Case’s musical talents have spanned many genres throughout his career, an indication of his many talents and interests in music. Today we take a listen to a track from Dustin Case’s album Good, the eleventh song from that album titled “Sonny Daze”, which features Sonny Ray Enfinger.
“Sonny Daze” opens with a reverb-soaked bluesy guitar riff that remains prevalent throughout the song. The beat is very prevalent on the track as well, with expert production leveling out each instrument in a way that makes the track sound extremely balanced. “Sonny Daze” is an instrumental track but very much incorporates elements of hip-hop like the rest of the album it is from and fits right in as an exceptional and enjoyable track. On a personal note, while listening to this track, I was reminded of countless summer days where I was outside enjoying my time, all the while the sun beating down on me; I feel like this song really represents what it is like to enjoy a nice hot summer day with your friends.
Overall, “Sonny Daze” stands as an outstanding summer song - sure to be on my next poolside relaxation playlist - and is a sterling example of the varied and unique talents of Dustin Case.
