FaB - Dancing Partner

FaB, which is short for Fitzsimon and Brogan is the songwriting duo comprised of Neil Fitzsimon and Bee Brogan. Fitzsimon is the chief songwriter for the group and also the guitarist and Brogan works as the vocalist, keyboardist, drummer and and does the group’s engineering. We previously covered FaB’s single, “Persuasion” and today FaB is on our mind again with their new single “Dancing Partner”.

The intro of “Dancing Partner” features a chunky guitar riff that immediately draws the listener in. With heaps of radio potential, the vocal melody is left easily stuck in your head and the spirit of the song will stay strong in your memory. Interestingly, FaB are able to modernize that classic 80’s sound - both in this particular track and in general - in a way that invokes both feelings of nostalgia and feelings of modernism. In the end, “Dancing Partner” is magically catchy and infectiously danceable, capable of transporting you to the days of 80’s era dance clubs.

FaB gives off some oldschool vibes, finding a sound that is akin to groups like The Pixies, R.E.M. and, in the case of “Dancing Partner”, even The B-52’s but their contribution to the music lexicon goes beyond that as Fitzsimon and Brogan have joined together to create something special with their music. The accessibility offered by their classic alt-rock sound makes this a group that I think will succeed as they release more material and they are certainly worth the listen.
