Flowerbabe - the moon

Flowerbabe is a musician based out of Chicago, Illinois. Now twenty-one years of age, Flowerbabe took up guitar eight years ago and has been composing music for about five years and this artist has become a master of creating atmospheric tracks that combine elements of 80’s music, dream pop and bedroom pop. Today we are very excited to share our thoughts on Flowerbabe’s single, “the moon”!

Through “the moon”, we get a glimpse into Flowerbabe’s love of 80’s music and how that influence finds its way into the music this artist creates. This track gives off nostalgic and longing vibes while creating a dreamlike atmosphere with hints of mystique and melancholy. Lyrically, this song definitely comes from a personal place and the words match the way the instrumental portion of the song sounds in an eloquent manner. For me, “the moon” is a wonderful dream pop song painted on an 80’s canvas, full of beautiful synth work that helps build a lush and deeply enjoyable soundscape.

I really feel like Flowerbabe’s sound is something special and that “the moon” is a special song in itself. You can keep up with Flowerbabe through Instagram and Twitter. Make sure you take a listen to “the moon” which we have embedded below via Spotify as well as the more up-tempo track “and the stars”; I think they pair well nicely together!
