Hereami - Flow State (feat. Vazen)
Hereami is a skilled modern hip hop artist who has also performed as an actor. According to his Bandcamp profile, his love of writing and performing music comes from his older brothers, though Hereami did not begin to pursue a music career until late in his college career. This talented artist’s new song, “Flow State” was written by Shawn 'HereamI' Dunbar, and features Michael 'Vazen' Vanasek, Hereami's long time collaborator, who also produced the music to this powerful track. Hereami along with Jason Ho of Dream Nineteen Productions, directed the making of the music video, which was shot in Los Angeles as a way of peacefully protesting the racial injustice in society, and releasing anxiety that has risen from recent and past events.
“Flow State (feat. Vazen)” begins with a brief spoken word portion where Hereami briefly discusses his struggles and hope to be a “symbol of hope”. The beat kicks in from there and it is incredibly catchy; overall, the instrumental is flawlessly produced. Hereami’s lyrical flow plays off of the beat very well and this interaction is certainly something to behold. Clever lines pepper the entire track, my favorite being “No one posts they real life so I stay offline” and the subsequent mention of how that artificial behavior causes depression. Hereami’s strong lyrics and excellent flow are the highlights of this expertly crafted track.
“Flow State (feat. Vazen) is an exceptional track and if you have been craving more hip hop/rap in your life like I have, this is one you can’t miss.
