HeYoMa - Summer of Joy
HeYoMa is a new Feel Good Pop music project based in Berlin. This new group features the project’s founder, Yo - an experienced multi-instrumentalist, sideman, producer and writer - and his wife Magdalena. The group’s name comes from the combination of three names, Henryk, Yo & Magdalena. Today we are excited to share our thoughts on HeYoMa’s debut single, “Summer of Joy”!
“Summer of Joy” feels like the absolute perfect feel-good summer track, truly befitting of its title. Richly melodic, this song features impactful performances across both the vocals - which feature deeply textured harmonies - and the instrumental portion. The syncopation in the percussion of this track stood out as a highlight for me, though the absolute best part was the way in which the vocal performances brought the lyrics to life. I really enjoyed the radio edit of the song as it provides a perfectly concise experience but you cannot go wrong with either version.
After listening to “Summer of Joy”, I cannot express how excited I am to hear more from this group. For now, we have an awesome debut single to ride out the rest of summer with!
