Introducing PHELIXX LAKE!
PHELIXX LAKE is a Metalcore project from UK-based music artist TJ Whiting. Drawing inspiration from artists like A Day to Remember, Senses Fail, I Prevail and others, PHELIXX LAKE began just last year but is already taking the Metalcore scene by storm. Today we are excited to share our thoughts on all three of PHELIXX LAKE’s singles from 2022, “Recovery”, “Echo” and “Infrared”!
“Recovery” is PHELIXX LAKE’s electrifying debut single and it is easy to hear how this song kicked everything off in a momentous way. From the outset, this song cranks the volume to eleven and never stops and it is the kind of song that will make you want to get up and move. This song was the world’s first taste of PHELIXX LAKE’s aggressive sound, melodic vocals and raw but beautiful energy and it is a truly memorable song. Take a listen:
“Echo”, which is PHELIXX LAKE’s most played song on Spotify, is an absolutely brilliant release. Featuring crunchy, aggressive guitar work and some powerful vocals (both clean and otherwise), this track has all of the hallmarks of a phenomenal Metalcore hit. Indeed, this song personally reminds me of some of the sensibilities from A Day to Remember’s best songs; there is that undoubtable heavy, deep and dark Metalcore core but some excellent work with melody that could still give this song some great radio play on a contemporary Rock station. “Infrared” kicks off with a crazy level of aggression that makes it immediately memorable and downright enthralling to listen to. Once the clean vocals in the first verse start, you will be completely drawn in to what this incredible song is offering. Above all else, I really liked the lyrics in this one; while all of TJ Whiting’s projects have genuine lyrics, this one felt especially personal which added another layer to the incredibly powerful vocal performance in this song.
