Jude Gwynaire - Made in Wuhan
Jude Gwynaire is a self-taught musician, composer and writer from the United Kingdom who is currently living in Suffolk; in addition to writing music, Gwynaire is also an author. “Made in Wuhan” is a recently released single and, judging from the name, draws some inspiration from the COVID-19 virus that has captured the attention of the world.
“Made in Wuhan” features a groovy bassline that carries the track, hosting a wide array of instruments throughout. The track, along with its name and cover-art really pushes an Eastern theme from end to end. I’m especially a big fan of the use of organs in this one, with a breakdown featured just shy of halfway through the song pushing a new quick melody to stack on the original. The instruments in “Made in Wuhan” come together to give the track a truly hazy feeling, as if to mirror how society is coping with stay at home orders and the spread of COVID-19.
Overall this is a relevant piece that sounds like it belongs on a study playlist, and I plan on searching through Jude Gwynaire’s catalog to find more songs like it. Check out the song below and you can visit his website here.
