Juli Rexton - Salvation Blues

Juli Rexton is a twenty-two year old guitarist from Buenos Aires, Argentina. Rexton started playing when she was thirteen and has found inspiration in Blues and Rock music from the 60’s and 70’s. Today we are excited to share our thoughts on Juli Rexton’s song, “Salvation Blues” from the album Lost Old Tapes!

“Salvation Blues” is an electrifying instrumental piece that is absolute ear candy. From the outset you can hear how Rexton is influenced by Blues music, though her guitar playing in this piece definitely scales beyond one single genre. I really like how bright and powerful the guitar tone is in this song; its overdriven sound is reminiscent of some of the best of 70’s rock. The element I enjoy most about this song is the way in which Rexton uses an older, familiar Rock sound and makes it her own in this song.

Listening to “Salvation Blues” made me want to listen to more music from Rexton and you can do so through the rest of her album Lost Old Tapes. You can keep up with Juli Rexton through Instagram and find her music on Spotify and YouTube. We have “Salvation Blues” embedded below via Spotify - check it out!
