Kristen Karma - Dear John
Kristen Karma is a pop artist from Vancouver, British Columbia and now residing in Toronto. A musician who already has had a great deal of success in the music industry, Karma has shared the stage with Lady Gaga and AKON amongst many other talented artists. Today we’re going to be taking a look at her newest song “Dear John.”
“Dear John” is a song about someone very near and dear to Kristen named “John.” Whether John is a filler name (perhaps borrowed from the film of the same name) or someone she is actually speaking to is not known but Kristen speaks to John as someone who is no longer in her life and is very missed. The lyrics and ballad-like melody lets us know this person had a big impact on Kristen and was a guiding light or very influential person to Kristen. In the end this song wraps up as a very emotional piece that anyone can find some sort of relation to.
Kristen Karma has spent most of her life studying music and audio engineering and has developed her chops as a well-rounded well established musician. We feel the pain in Kristen’s words in “Dear John” but most importantly in the way she belts these lyrics to us. It’s no wonder this song was #1 on the iTunes charts in South Africa.
